Train

SRVC offer training rides throughout the year, with an alternating route and split ability groups – emphasis on much of our training is race preparation, it is a great way to get stronger, fitter and faster as well as meeting like minded cyclists looking to helping one another improve.

Saturdays

Meet –  Albourne Traffic Lights

Time – 9 AM

Our renowned Saturday training rides are an opportunity to develop your abilities and hone your group riding skills. A staggered depart of 2-3 mixed ability groups ranging from 18mph to 23mph over a 45 mile course with a “fun” sprint finish. This is treated as a training ride rather than a social and as such we do not stop for punctures or dropped riders.

Please familiarise yourself with the routes, bring a phone and be prepared for punctures. If the unfortunate does happen we all tend to gather at Washbrooks cafe post ride and we’d be happy to see you there.

We rotate three routes, a flat route, a more hilly route and a route heading to Ashdown Forest, depending on conditions and what we fancy on the day. Typically, the routes rotate in the order of flat, hilly, flat, Ashdown, and then we repeat.

Pop over to our Calender to see the schedule for our Saturday rides, and all the other events that SRVC are involved in. There's always something going on!

Mid-Week

Throughout Summer

Meet – Albourne
Time – 6.30 PM

Our mid-week ride (Tuesday) focuses on race training and team riding using a circuit loop of Albourne. We split our riders into level ability groups with the objective of staying away from the chasing group over two laps.

Depending on the light we often do two of these sessions in one evening. Non-members are very welcome to come meet us and try these fast sessions.

Spanish Spring Training Camp

Since 2015, all members are invited to our annual Spanish Spring Training Camp, for a week of warm weather cycling around the mountains near Parcent, Costa Blanca. Ride where the Pro's train, on smooth traffic-free roads, surrounded by fantastic scenery. Find out more.
